The vision for the Sloan Comfort Care Home began in 2015, with a small group of committed people who wanted to address the gap in care available to those at end-of-life in Erie County. Comfort Care Homes across the country provide free, compassionate care in a homelike setting to people with terminal illness.  In 2019, through collaboration with St. Andrew's Church and with the help of a generous grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, the first Comfort Care Home in Erie County became a reality.

Located on the beautiful campus of St. Andrew's Church, a convent is currently being repurposed and renovated into a 2 bed private home that will provide a safe, comfortable environment where guests will be cared for by trained staff and caring volunteers. Our link with the healthcare system is with the certified home care agency that you and your family choose to provide hospice care. Our goal is to relieve the family of major care-giving responsibilities enabling them to spend more quality time with their loved one.

Due to Covid-19 we have had to delay our opening. We will begin accepting guests to the house in December of this year.
